3D printing dental company, Structo, launches the new MSLA DentaForm 3D printer

Structo, a Singapore-based 3D printing company, has launched the world’s fastest dental mold 3D printer. DentaForm is the new dental printer unveiled by Structo at the Association of Orthodontists Singapore (AOSC) 2017 at Marina Bay Sands.
Structo entered the 3D dental printing market with its two products, the OrthoForm and OmniForm 3D printers. Structo’s products are all designed on the lines of Mask Stereolithography (MSLA) technology. This application caters especially to the dental industry and aims at manufacturing molds in an easy and speedy fashion.

DentaForm, Structo’s latest product is perfect for certain dental applications. It is designed to make perfectly-fitting dental crowns and bridges for restorative dentistry. The printer prints at an accuracy of 50 micrometers along the x/y axis and has a platform of 200×150 mm of printing accuracy.

Huub van Esbroeck, the co-founder of Structo said that their 3D printer will set new speeds for 3D dental printing. The printer will pave way for new application that can be commenced using the Mask Stereolithography (MSLA). The MSLA technology is much faster than the speed of standard SLA printers. The MSLA uses a liquid crystal mask and a light source panel which are integrated to control the exposure of the printing plate to the light source.

This opens up the possibility of multiple prints in a single turn and the MSLA technology allows scaling up for industrial processes without compromising on the speed. The DentaForm 3D printer uses the same MSLA technology as the OrthoForm, only with an upgraded resolution capacity. The company says that the customers wanted an upgrade from the OrthoForm printer so that they could print advanced dental models at higher speeds.

Structo will showcase its new DentaForm printer at the AOSC from February 24 to 26, 2017. It will also participate in the event at the International Dental Show in Cologne, Germany from March 21-25, 2017.
